Hi.

A bit of an update again.

I have seen some bad excuses for not being able to complete a novel. This one takes the biscuit, though.

The story is decided and everything is very good. It is a great story. My problem though is the latest developments of my life.

My life is currently great and is becoming even greater every week. I fully become what I wanted to become some decades ago. I got everything I want + a lot, lot more. I could not be happier and the latest developments at work is the icing on the cake. I have had some absolute great weeks and that is set to continue.

The problem is that the novel I am releasing and should be completing now is a very dark novel where I have to face a lot of angst and so forth. Being a happy-chirpy person right now, that is a problem.......... The novel has also grown in volume a lot with new ideas coming in all the time. Very good ideas indeed.

I will give it a go though and my new release date is 1. March 2016.

... I hope.....
Down The River From Erskine Bridge.Hi and an awful long time since last update.

No, there is no wrong with me. Just a change of jobs and private circumstances. Life always comes in the way of a good novel. Both those I am trying to read (I am halfway through the Rebus novels) and those I am trying to write.

My problem is that I have been too content, too happy and too busy since the release of Fragments Of Peter Svarttjern's Saga. Happiness is the root of no creativity.... Well, in my case.

I am still as happy as I can be. Nevertheless, I want this novel to be completed and published. And then, another one again....... My head is still working on stories and ideas. Many ideas !

I have spent the last 10 months working and refining the concept in my head. A story about one person has become a story about two persons. The novel follows both stories over a period of 6 to 9 months (yet to be decided...) and it will be a compact, hard punching novel.

I am starting these days on the serious writing and I hope to have it released by 1. October.

Happy, hard days will follow.

More news and a taster when I have got something to say.
My new dream is to write and release this new novel this year. And I will start within the next days or weeks.

Down The River From Erskine Bridge is a different and far more time restrained novel which takes part over a period of six months. It will be a dark book which delves more into the dark side of the mankind than any thing I have written about before. My aim is to shake myself and the reader up a great deal.

The book will have a short prelude and two chapters. I don't know how long it will be. But it will be substantial shorter than Fragments. It will though be a punch up and full on from page 1. That is all I know about it. This novel will become a novel during the writing process.

Release around one year or shorter from today. I am still missing the artwork for this novel and I may even ask a Facebook friend to do it for me. Or I may do it with my camera as I have done it on the two previous novels.

I am really looking forward to writing Down The River From Erskine Bridge. In the meantime; support my ground coffee bills by purchasing both The Final Ride and Fragments Of Peter Svarttjern's Saga.

I have decided to follow Amazon's advice and to release the book on paperback too. That for a nominal cost and where Amazon does the stock. The profits is not that big. I am not writing novels for profit or to earn any money. I do it because writing novels is me, my life.

The cover, the jacket and the back page needs substantial revisions and I will do them this week before I submit the layout files again to Amazon. The text is brilliant (sorry.... wrong word) and so is the paper quality.

I am very pleased. It has always been my dream to hold one of my books in my hand. That dream has now been fulfilled. But onwards to the next dream, to my next goal....

....which is......

March and I have been busy since then with other things.

The novel is a pretty twisted take on the family saga issue where the first word of the book title clarify why this is not a 450 000 words long novel. It is long as it is. It is also a book I have wanted to write and publish for the best part of 20 years. I am very happy with it.

The book can be purchased from Amazon and you can read a taster of it by clicking at the cover.
I have released two novels and will start work on the third novel soon.

I will update this blog with info about the two novels and my new novel.

This is the first post and more will be added later on.Torodd Fuglesteghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04586280313395882761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2476275373551845088.post-87482291088249741642012-10-09T11:25:00.000-07:002014-03-15T09:51:41.881-07:00Books.... The Manchurian CandidateFinally....

I first time read the Norwegian translation of Richard Condon's The Manchurian Candidate more than thirty years ago. It was in my grandfather Ola's collection and I read it when I was on holiday in Sogn. A great read and it became one of my alltime favourite books. The plot is excellent and captivated me from page one and onwards. It was my first love when it comes to grown up books. Actually, it was my first love among books. The book is one of the best political satires I have ever read and that really also got me interested in political satires too.

I have finally ordered the original version today through Amazon and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of this truly brilliant book. I paid 1 pence for it and £ 2.80 in postage. A no brainer, really.

I have got quite a good book collection now with political satires and biographies, thrillers and novels. I am also working on my new novel and is trying not to borrow too much from the novels I am reading myself. After a long break away from books, I have become a bookworm again. The Jo Nesboe books has been ordered and I am halfway through them. His Harry Hole book is excellent. Ian Rankin also has a lot of excellent books. I like those gritty books. I am also fan of sports books and other topical books.

Books and writing is my first love and biggest interest in life, I have to admit. I was born like that and spent most of my childhood and youth among books. I took a long break away from books when I amassed 2000 a big music collection, but have now returned to them. I have a 200 books or so big collection and that is the only luxury I spend money on now.

I am really looking forward to read The Manchurian Candidate and I hope the orginal version it has the same bite and acid sarcasm as the Norwegian translation has. In that case, there will be a lot of laugh out loud moments. Maybe I should get the DVD and fix my DVD player too. The book was made into a major film with Frank Sinatra involved. The book was also John F. Kennedy's favourite book too.

I am eagerly awaiting the postman next week.Torodd Fuglesteghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04586280313395882761noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2476275373551845088.post-86282123520119938572012-07-04T13:29:00.000-07:002014-03-15T09:51:07.280-07:00Yes, I finally did it !!!!!The Final Ride is finally out and for sale here
I will not make any comments about the book as I leave that to the readers of the book. The plot is in the road movie, thriller and novel tradition. The feedback so far has been very positive. It is a strange feeling to finally having completed and released this very personal novel. I feel both dazed and confused. I do a lot of promotion at the moment and does not know how much the book has sold so far. It will be offered for sale through other bookstores too. The likes of Amazon etc etc.

I learnt a lot from writing and releasing this book. New wisdom I will apply when I start to write my next book, Of Peter Svartjern's Saga. That book will be a different kettle of fish than The Final Ride.

My plan is to release one book a year or so. I got plenty of ideas for books. I will do them in my own pace. My life does not depend on them. I am glad The Final Ride is finally out and out of the way.

The rest of my life ? I am not suffering, let me put it that way.Torodd Fuglesteghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04586280313395882761noreply@blogger.com0
